Tajikistan have pulled the biggest upset yet at the ongoing Asian Cup win a second round win over UAE.

UAE faced minnows Tajikistan in the round of 16 on Sunday evening and could not believe what befell them in the encounter.
The Crowns are tournament debutants but have surpassed all odds to reach the last eight at the expense of UAE.
They won the tie after the penalty shootouts finished in their favour in the keenly contested tie.
Vahdat Hanonov opened the scoring for the first timers on the half hour mark and several other chances to double their advantage went begging.
The Whites of UAE had their moments also and would punish their opponents’ profligacy when Khalifa Mubarak levelled in the sixth minute of added time to drag the game into extra time.

The game continued in the extra time as both teams went in search of the winning goal.
It panned out to be a caged affair for the whole thirty minutes as both teams treaded cautiously.

The game went into penalties and it was the over nine million populated Tajikistan who held their rivals 5-3 after the shootouts.
Caio Canedo was the villain for UAE as he saw his spot kick saved while Tajikistan scored all five to advance to the last eight in their first ever tournament appearance.
